hardness test
visual inspection | nondestructive inspection |
tensile testing | surface crack detection |
bend test | impact test |
hardness test | low times metallographic test |
butt joint with full penetration、t-joint with full penetration、branch connection with full penetration、fillet welds
the hardness testing shall be performed in accordance with related standards. hardness measurements shall be taken in the weld, the heat affected zones and the parent metal in order to evaluate the range of hardness values across the welded joint. for material thicknesses less than or equal to 5mm, only one row of indentations shall be made at a depth of up to 2mm below the upper surface of the welded joint. for material thicknesses over 5mm, two rows of indentations shall be made at a depth of up to 2mm below the upper and lower surfaces of the welded joint. for double sided welds, fillet and t-butt welds, one additional row of indentations shall be made through the root area.
for each row of indentation at least 3 individual indentations in each of the following areas:
1.the weld
2.both heat affected zones
3.both parent metals
