case background:
a customer receives complaints and finds a type connector of its products is poor contact affecting the performance. the customer enlarges the sample and finds that the surface of the product has a white area which is different from the normal position.

analysis summary:
1.abnormal product surface with white material was found through a stereoscopic microscope magnification, see below:
2.take pictures for the samples, determine the test position. since the sample is copper substrate, no infrared light absorption and the reflective light is good which can directly use microscopic infrared to do reflection test for the sample surface with accurate position, fast speed and good quality graph.
conclusion:
the infrared spectrum analysis, according to their molecular structure characteristics, combined with standard infrared spectrum shows that the organic principal component of the material is succinic acid. succinic acid is a kind of good surfactants and is the component of detergents, soaps and demulsifier.
