definition:
oxygen index (oi) refers to the provisions of the conditions, the material in the oxygen and nitrogen mixture flow to meet the need of flaming minimum oxygen concentration. with oxygen volume percentage of the value. high oxygen index said material is not easy to burn, low oxygen index said material easy to burn.
purposes:

test method:
to fix a specimen vertically upwards flow of oxygen, nitrogen gas mixture of transparent glass burning in the cylinder, lit up the top of the specimen, and observe the combustion characteristic of sample, the test continuous time or sample combustion intensity compared with the given criterion, through a series of experiments under different oxygen concentration, estimate the minimum value of oxygen concentration. minimum oxygen index value are compared, in order to test the three samples, according to the criterion of judging a minimum of two test samples.
